Guests will be able to taste over 50 different wines made from the broad range of grape varieties grown within the Malibu Coast AVA.
“We will also be honoring George Rosenthal with our Pioneer Award. As one of the original vintners in the region, he early on established standards in grape growing and winemaking that we all continue to reference as benchmarks,” said John Gooden, alliance president.
The Wine Celebration will also feature food from Michael’s Santa Monica, Duke’s Malibu, Aroha New
Zealand Cuisine, Sarah’s Cupcakes and 805 Catering Company.
The Vinyl Gypsies, a Southern
California classic rock band, will provide music.
Tickets are $75. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to malibucoastava.com.
The Malibu Coast American Viticultural Area is an agriculturally zoned region in Los Angeles and Ventura counties that in 2014 was designated by the Department of the Treasury as a unique area for grape growing.
Some 50 vineyards, comprising a total of approximately 200 acres of sustainably farmed vines, are planted within the 94,000 acres within the AVA boundaries.
