Former tax pro accused of embezzlement

A tax preparer has been arrested on suspicion of stealing thousands of dollars from a client.

Colin Patrick Doyle, 40, owned the accounting firm Doyle Tax Group off T.O. Boulevard from 2016 until October 2020, when the California secretary of state suspended his business. Doyle had purchased the long-standing firm from his mother, officials said.

His tax preparer registration expired in 2019, state records showed.
