The Southern California Association of Governments adopted a resolution in support of a 101/Liberty Canyon Wildlife Crossing following a favorable vote by 97 Southern California elected offi cials during SCAG’s annual general assembly meeting in Palm Desert on May 7.

The meeting approved a resolution that recognizes both the additional safety to motorists and efforts to preserve wildlife species, including mountain lions, deer and coyotes, that have been hit by cars crossing the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills.

Pictured in the photograph is a cutout of mountain lion P-22, one cat that managed to cross both the 101 and 405 freeways and is living in Griffith Park, where it was famously photographed with the Hollywood sign in the background.

Also in the photo, from left, are Los Angeles Councilmember Tom LaBonge, National Wildlife Foundation’s Beth Pratt- Bergstrom, Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks, Resource Conservation District member Dennis Washburn and UCLA student Aysha Rüya Cohen.
