A country fair with ocean air­— and hot tunes

Good vibrations and great live music will take center stage when the Ventura County Fair returns Aug. 3-14 at the Ventura Fairgrounds.

As part of the 2022 Grandstand

Entertainment series, visitors can see musical acts and rodeos free with paid admission to the fair.

The fair, now in its 147th year, bills itself as “the country fair with ocean air.” It presents a variety of acts spanning all types of music, from country and pop to rock, R&B and funk. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. except for the 3 p.m. Día De La Familia concert on Aug. 7. Here’s a rundown:

KC & the Sunshine Band (Thurs., Aug. 4)

The All-American Rejects (Fri., Aug. 5)

Blue Öyster Cult (Sat., Aug. 6)

The Beach Boys featuring Mike Love and Bruce Johnston (Mon., Aug. 8)

Clay Walker (Tues., Aug. 9)

Cheap Trick (Wed., Aug. 10)

The PRCA Rodeo takes place at 7 p.m. Fri., Aug. 12, and 2 and 7 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Aug. 13-14.
