NPHS student earns Reagan scholarship

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute and GE recently awarded the GE- Reagan Foundation Scholarship to a student from Newbury Park.

While in high school, Odysseus Pyrinis participated in mock trial, Model United Nations and speech and debate.

He was the president of the local TedXYouth.

He also participated in volunteer efforts including charitable and political causes.

Pyrinis plans to attend UC Berkeley in the fall and study for a career in law.

The 20 scholarship recipients will receive $10,000 a year for up to four years to cover tuition and on-campus room and board at an accredited U.S. college or university.
