Burgerim, a restaurant specializing in mini burgers, opened at Ventu Park Center, 587 N. Ventu Park Road, in the location formerly occupied by Starbucks.

Mall is green leader

The Oaks mall became the first shopping center in the country to earn the BREEAM USA In-Use Green Building certification, which measures and monitors the environmental performance of existing buildings. Opened in 1978 and renovated in 1993 and 2009, The Oaks is equipped with 6,000 solar panels producing 1,652 kilowatts of power.

Auto sales

A total 1,600 new vehicles were sold in Thousand Oaks in February, up 11 percent from January but down 5 percent from February 2016. Additionally, 647 pre-owned vehicles were sold.

Job statistics

The California Labor Market report revealed that Ventura County’s February unemployment rate decreased to 4.7 percent from 5.1 percent in January.
