Grant will get Bridges moving

Bridges K-8 Charter School has been nominated for the $50,000 Clorox Power a Bright Future Contest.

Bridges was the only school in the Conejo Valley to receive a nomination.

The grant will enable the creation of a schoolwide pedometer program as well as a fitness trail to encourage daily physical activity for students, staff and their families.

Voting will close on Dec. 19.

Bridges is a tuition-free public school in Thousand Oaks that was founded on the Whole Child educational philosophy.

The school commu- nity comprises 380 students representing many cultures and ranging in age from 5 to 14 years old.
