TIMELESS TALES—Alan Salazar, a Native American storyteller, tells the story of how the Chumash got the shape of their hands during the Summer Solstice Celebration at the Chumash Indian Museum on Saturday. The summer solstice was yesterday. Considered thefirst day of summer, the June solstice is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, providing more hours of daylight than any other day.
