Last day to apply for Rotary scholarships
The Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks is taking applications for college or trade school scholarships.
Funds are available for tuition or associated educational costs. The funds will be paid to educational institutions only, not to individuals, unless otherwise specified.
These scholarships are for students who are ineligible for scholarship awards elsewhere. Pre-vocational trainees, job change candidates and those seeking skilled occupations will be favorably received. Motivation to succeed and clear goals will be valued assets.
Re-entry students are invited to apply. There is no age limit and no discrimination on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity or gender.
No immediate family members of the Rotary Club are eligible for the awards.
Applicants must be residents of Thousand Oaks or adjacent areas; must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a post-secondary school (college, training school, community college or technical school); and must have a grade-point average of 2.7 to 3.5 from a secondary or postsecondary school as verified by transcripts or counselor certification, as well as a strong background in community service.
Completed applications must be mailed by tomorrow, March 30, to Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks, Martin Anderson, Conejo Valley Stamp and Coin Inc., 2637 Townsgate Road, Ste. 100, Thousand Oaks, CA 91361.
Mandatory oral interviews will take place during the week of April 2.
