Postseason hoops has arrived

The Thousand Oaks High girls’ basketball team won its first Marmonte League championship since 1998.

The Lancers (20-6 overall) were rewarded with a home playoff game in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 2AA playoffs Saturday against West Covina.

All playoff games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Newbury Park’s girls play at Godinez in Division 2AA action Saturday. The Panthers (14-12) finished fourth in the Marmonte. Westlake (14-11) travels to La Habra tonight in a Division 3AAA showdown.

Oaks Christian’s girls, the Tri-Valley League champs who went 22-4, play host to Santa Ynez this evening in Division 4AA.

Omega League champion Newbury Park Adventist will host Providence Hall tonight in a Division 6 matchup.

On the boys’ side, Thousand Oaks (18-8) plays at Mark Keppel Friday night in a Division 2AA first-round affair. In a Division 2A game, Westlake (19-10) travels to Dominguez of Compton.
