Art auction will fund Conejo Valley scholarships

The Greater Conejo Valley Community Foundation will host an art auction to raise scholarship funds for graduating high school seniors from the Conejo Valley from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., March 29 at the Best Western Thousand Oaks Inn, 75 W. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

There is no charge to attend the event, which will feature both live and silent auctions.

Artwork donations will be accepted from 2: 30 to 4: 30 p.m. every Friday until March 23 at the foundation office, 600 Hampshire Road, Ste. 202, Westlake Village.

The goal is to collect 100 to 150 pieces of saleable art, including paintings, sculptures, photographs and posters.

Donors should supply a suggested resale value for each work; each will receive a taxdeductible receipt.

The nonprofit foundation is the charitable arm of the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Scholarships of $1,000 are given to qualified area high school seniors who are employed in the community while they attend school.

A scholarship winner from each school is selected by the foundation based on their application and essay.
