Latin music fest comes to Camarillo
The Ventura Music Festival’s Sixth Latin Jazz Concert will feature the Spanish Harlem Orchestra at 8 p.m. Sat., Feb. 18 at the Ventura High School auditorium, 2 N. Catalina St.
Directed and founded by pianist, arranger and producer Oscar Hernández, the 2011 Grammy-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra combines Latin music traditions with original compositions.
Ventura Music Festival’s 18th concert season will be from May 3 through May 12.
Each year, the festival’s education outreach program presents live performances, interaction and stories to nearly 4,000 local students through “ Music in the Schools,” presented by artistic director Nuvi Mehta.
Tickets for the Latin Jazz Concert are $30, $40 and $50, and $15 for youths.
