Parent coach to give seminar in WLV
The public is invited to hear psychologist and parent coach Timothy Smith present his seminar “The Relaxed Parent: Helping your Kids Do More as You Do Less” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sat., Oct. 1 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 32111 Watergate Road, Westlake Village.
The seminar will address the challenges of parenting children from infancy to responsible independence and adulthood. Topics will cover “How Not to Spoil Your Child,” “Why You Give in to Your Child,” “Tiger Mom vs. Koala Dad,” “Challenging Perfectionism” and “Becoming a Family of High Achievement.”
Smith has a master’s degree in educational psychology from Biola University in La Mirada.
He presentes weekly seminars across the United States and also coaches indivduals in his office and families in private homes. Smith specializes in cognitive and behavioral therapy.
The cost for the seminar is $40 per family if paid by Sept. 18 and $50 thereafter. Tickets include dinner for the entire family and a program for children through third grade.
