Carstensen to coach cross country at Thousand Oaks
Thousand Oaks High has hired Keena Carstensen as its head varsity coach for cross country.
Carstensen first got involved in coaching during the early 1990s with youth track clubs in Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks.
In 1998, she became an assistant cross country and track coach at TOHS.
Carstensen assumed the role of head track coach for the Lancers in 2009, leading the team to two Marmonte League girls’ championships and a boys’ title.
“I’m excited and humbled to take on this role,” Carstensen said, “and I’m looking forward to working with the athletes and coaching staff.”
