Poker tourney will benefit charities
St. Paschal’s Men’s Club will host its sixth annual Casino Night and Texas Hold ’em Poker Tournament on Sat., May 21 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church, 155 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.
Doors will open at 6:15 pm.
Proceeds will benefit all of the club’s charities, including Ventura County Women’s Center and Many Mansions.
The event will have casino games with professional dealers and a poker tournament. Prizes include iPads and a trip to Laughlin, Nev.
Entry is $20, which includes dinner and drinks. Women are free with preregistration. Poker tournament fees are an additional $60.

Preschool turns 20
King of Glory Preschool will celebrate its 20th anniversary from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., May 21 at 2500 Borchard Road, Newbury Park.
Former students, their families and the community are invited.
A chapel service will take place at 11 a.m. with singing and a slide presentation.
The event will have a Jolly Jump and playground activities. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided.

Music, speaker at breakfast
Westlake Chapter of Aglow International, a nondenominational Christian fellowship of women caring for women around the world, will host a breakfast from 9: 15 a. m. to 12:30 p.m. Fri., May 13 at Los Robles Greens Banquet Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.
The event will have breakfast, music and speaker Al Diaz, who will share his experience as he underwent a kidney removal operation in 2009.

Churches gather for Day of Prayer
More than 15 local churches will take part in a Conejo Valley noon prayer gathering from noon to 1 p.m. today, May 5, on the front lawn at 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.
Twelve pastors will participate. Worship will be led by Brenton Brown.

Harpsichord concert at St. Pat’s
Dr. Eric Kinsley, CLU music professor and music director/ organist at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, and other musicians will present a harpsichord concert on Sat., May 7 at St. Pat’s church, One Church Road, Thousand Oaks.
Dinner with complementary wine will be served at 5:30 p.m. in the parish hall followed by the concert in the sanctuary at 7 p.m.
The event is a benefit for the church’s music program.
Admission is a suggested donation of $35 for both dinner and concert. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Food and wine fest in Simi Valley
St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church will present the fifth annual International Food and Wine Festival from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sat., May 21 on the church patio, 280 Royal Ave., Simi Valley.
Guests can enjoy homecooked gourmet foods represent- ing 10 countries as well as wine and other beverages.
Jazz music will be provided. A silent auction for gifts and services will be offered.
Child care will be provided. All proceeds will benefit the church.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. A “4-for” package is $100.
