MASTERS OF MOCK— Junior Lauren Hearne accepts the first- place trophy for La Reina High School after the Thousand Oaks private school won this year’s Ventura County Mock Trial competition. The contest, which included more than 600 participants in 28 teams from 23 high schools, took place March 3 and 4 at the Ventura County Government Center. The top six mock trial teams were, in descending order: La Reina, Westlake High School, Newbury Park Gold, Trinity Pacific Silver, Newbury Park Panther and Simi Valley High School.
