Wants your vote for Triunfo’s board
I’m running for reelection to the Triunfo Sanitation board to continue working to make the agency better.
A major victory of the past four years was changing Triunfo’s board to an all-elected at-large one. I voted with board members Linda Parks and Mike Paule in 2009 to make this change.
Until this November election, Triunfo is the only California sanitation agency that has just two elected board members, with the majority of three appointed. I’m so happy to be a part of this move to give residents more voice.
Looking to the future, I want to continue cost cutting, both at Triunfo and in our partnership with Las Virgenes Municipal Water District.
One area I’m focusing on is the partnership’s production of compost, with a cost projected at $5 million this fiscal year.
How can those costs be reduced? Is the best alternative to ship sludge to the Toland Landfill for environmentally responsible treatment?
Another way to cut costs is to continue creating more oversight of Ventura Regional Sanitation District fulfillment of our contract. VRSD now supplies the management and operational functions for Triunfo. Is an independent manager the solution?
I’m thankful for the ongoing support I’ve received from community members and would appreciate your vote in November.
