Americana MusicFest seeks vendors, volunteers

The Americana MusicFest wants vendors and volunteers for its inaugural event on Sun., Oct. 3 at Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills. The festival, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks, will feature live traditional American music including folk, bluegrass, Cajun, country, gospel, blues and jazz.

“In keeping with the festival theme, we’re looking for arts and craft vendors who produce American made goods,” said Brad Lewis, Kiwanis vendor coordinator. Booth sizes are 10 feet x 10 feet ($95) and 10 feet x 20 feet ($175). An additional $50 National Park Service fee will be applied.

Volunteers are needed to help with parking, ticket sales, program distribution and festival setup and teardown. In addition, volunteer musicians are needed to teach minilessons at the “instrumental petting zoo,” help supervise arts and crafts for young artists, and assist at music workshops and demonstrations.

“For a music lover, this is a volunteer dream job,” said Lewis. “You’ll be around professional musicians and others who appreciate music as much as you do.”

Volunteers must be 18 or older.

Proceeds from the Americana MusicFest will go to the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks Charitable Foundation.
