Music teacher not to be forgotten

REMEMBERING MOM–Andrew, left, and Judd Freeman, sons of Jan Freeman, share their thoughts on Monday at the newly dedicated “Mrs. Freeman’s Music Garden” at The Growing Place Preschool and Kindergarten. Jan Freeman was a teacher there for 30 years, sharing her love of music with more than 1,800 children and families. Friends and family gathered to dedicate the garden and remember Jan, who passed away in January. Longtime Acorn readers may remember Jan’s husband, Roy, who wrote the Squirrel’s Nest column for several years.
