Disagrees with T.O. Acorn cartoon
I work in Westlake and use the northbound Lindero Canyon 101 Freeway entrance every day.
Since it was recently remodeled, it’s been a wonderful improvement over what was there before.
With the new additional lane, the congestion has decreased and you don’t have to merge with the main freeway traffic until you are nearly to the Westlake Boulevard exit. The new design also allows for eastbound traffic on Russell Ranch road to turn right onto southbound Lindero without having to merge into traffic, as they now have their own lane.
With that said, I didn’t understand the cartoon that your paper published with the skull and crossbones at the entrance to the freeway.
Possibly the joke was that the design of the road was responsible for the unfortunate death of a person who recently drove off the side of the road and struck a tree.
That makes as much sense as the family who blamed a tree for their son’s death in Hidden Valley and had the tree removed so that some other driver wouldn’t drive off the side of the road and hit it again. Jeffrey Niven Thousand Oaks
