Documentary film to be screened in Newbury Park
“Preacher’s Sons,” a documentary film about an unconventional family, will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Aug. 20 at the Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3327 Old Conejo Road, Newbury Park.
The film follows five years in the lives of partners the Rev. Greg Stewart and Stillman White, who adopted five of the most difficult to place children in the Los Angeles County foster care system. The boys, ages 2 months to 7 years, had come from troubled backgrounds, and most had endured abuse and failed foster placements. All but the baby had emotional problems and had been on psychiatric medications.
Stewart is a Unitarian Universalist minister, and White is a former social worker.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
