T.O. Acorn isn’t serving the public
My congratulations on your self-serving editorial of July 29 (“A community newspaper would have made a difference in Bell”). It’s sad that the citizens of Thousand Oaks don’t have a “good” local paper either.
As our City Council was cheerfully violating the city plan and rezoning property to suit the needs of a multibillion-dollar medical corporation, where was the Acorn?
As the City Council was approving 70-foot buildings and hugely overbuilt parking structures, where was the Acorn?
As the neighbors tried to state their case, where was the Acorn?
As the City Council was cavalierly ignoring the spirit of Measure E, where was the Acorn?
Did the Acorn advise restraint? Did the Acorn acknowledge the needs of Conejo Hills residents? Did the Acorn report on the conflict of interest with two medical professionals voting yes on this huge expansion?
No, our intrepid community newspaper advocated for Hospital Corporation of America and encouraged the City Council in their manipulative rezoning practices.
