The Shepherd’s House celebrates 50 years
Thousand Oaks Foursquare Church, The Shepherd’s House, celebrated its 50th anniversary as a chartered Foursquare Church on July 25.

Golf tournament to benefit Habitat for Humanity
The Faith and Service Coalition will host its annual Golf Tournament and Dinner to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County on Sat., Sept. 4.
The golf tournament will be at Camarillo Springs Golf Course at 7 a.m. and dinner will begin at 6 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 32111 Watergate Road, Westlake Village. The event will also have silent and live auctions.
Golf is $120 per player and includes dinner, green fees, cart and range balls. Dinner only is $50.
The Faith and Service Coalition consists of Monte Vista, Emmanuel and Westminster Presbyterian Churches as well as local Kiwanis Clubs.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing ministry.
This year’s goal is to raise $40,000 to help Habitat complete construction on its latest local home.

Forrester, founding pastor and chief builder and architect of the church property, had not been inside the church since he left in 1962. The church presented Forrester with a framed photo of the building. He had nailed every nail into the steep slope of the roof. Under Ware’s leadership, the congregation renovated and restored the property.
Thousand Oaks Mayor Dennis Gillette presented a commendation from the city. The Rev. John Tolle, district supervisor of the Foursquare Pacific Coast and Valleys District, brought a commendation from the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. Other greetings to commemorate the event arrived via letter and video.
