Food donations needed by Manna
Manna, the Conejo Valley food bank, needs your help.
It needs food for hungry clients.
Please go through your kitchen cabinets and find items that you’re willing to share with hungry people. Canned food, pasta items and spaghetti sauces—Manna needs whatever you can give. Be careful, though, because the food pantry cannot accept expired items.
If your trees are bearing fruit or avocados, please share whatever you can spare.
Also needed are personal hygiene items, including soap, toothpaste, deodorant and shampoo.
Manna can always use money. Send a check to P.O. Box 1114, Thousand Oaks, CA 91358.
Deliveries of food can be made to Manna, 3020 Crescent Way, just south of Thousand Oaks Boulevard and west of Hampshire Road.
You can take food and other items to Manna Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clients are served 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
Acorn readers have always been generous when Manna has requested donations of food, and we hope you can help again.
Manna has had high demand since June, partially because children who had been getting school lunches are on summer break.
And the economy still hasn’t recovered from the recession.
Thank you for whatever you can do.
