New West Symphony appoints officers

The New West Symphony Association announces the appointment of Jennifer Zobelein as president and Karl Klessig as treasurer.

Zobelein succeeds outgoing president Len Linton, and Klessig succeeds outgoing treasurer Neil Sunkin. Miriam Chase Wille continues to serve as secretary.

“My husband and I began attending New West Symphony concerts in Ventura County in 1995 when the Symphony was first established,” Zobelein said. “Now, as we approach the 16th season, I am delighted to head the leadership team that will continue to direct the organization through these challenging economic times.”

Zobelein, a resident of Thousand Oaks, has previously served in other community leadership roles, including chair of the first Habitat for Humanity project in Thousand Oaks and dean of the Ventura County chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Klessig is CEO of Ingeo Systems Inc. and a resident of Westlake Village. He was previously chair of the New West Symphony Governors.

“Achieving a sustainable financial model for a regional symphony orchestra has become more challenging, but I’m committed to working with the board to realize this goal,” Klessig said.

The New West Symphony is the resident orchestra at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza and Historic Barnum Hall in Santa Monica. The orchestra is led by music director Boris Brott of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
