Stop spending tax money on parking for The Lakes
The stupidity of our past and present City Council never ends. Before the City Council chambers and Civic Arts Plaza were constructed, the city promised to avoid additional traffic problems for Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
Well, that went by the boards long ago, but now we’re going to tear up the sidewalk and trees to make more room on the boulevard for extra parking.
With the fraud and deceit that has dogged this project from the beginning, the City Council should be going from door to door, begging for forgiveness.
Does anyone on Earth think that turning these parking spaces sideways will bring in new business for stores at The Lakes?
I shudder at the thought of how much money we’ve poured into this Civic Arts project with nothing to show for it.
I know I’m not the only one who spoke up at the time this monster was built, but this crime never ends, $5 million to fix the rusted out elevator, a couple of hundred thousand to turn the parking spaces sideways––where is this money coming from?
Wait, I think I know.
