‘Green’ art show coming

The Green/Vert/Verde environmentally inspired art show will run through Sept. 20 in the Galleria at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The show can be viewed daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at no charge. An artists’ reception will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Sat., Aug. 7 at the Galleria. The reception is free and open to the public.

This is an invitational art exhibit about renewal. Each of the 12 artists in the how tells the viewer what is environmentally inspiring.

Recycled metal, endangered species and repurposed materials are all themes in the exhibit.

The participating artists are Pong Apinyavat, Susanne Belcher, Josiane Cohanim, Michele DePuy Leavitt, Dakotah Fitzgerald, Valeria Stevenson, Pamela Fong, Connie Tunick, Darlene Mellein, Lisa Semler, Sean Sobczak and Melinda Warren.
