Discovery Nature Camp introduces children to natural wonders
Mountains Restoration Trust will host Discovery Nature Camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Headwater Corners, 3815 Old Topanga Canyon Road, Calabasas.
The camp, for children 8 to 12 years old, will introduce children to the wonders of nature through hands-on activities.
The learning experiences will provide a science and environmental focus using labs, scientific tools, guided discoveries, hikes, nature crafts, games, field trips and interactive guest speakers.
Each day of each session will center on a different theme in the Santa Monica Mountains.
Session 2 will be from July 19 to 23 and cover mammals, insects, endangered species, geology and a field trip to Channel Islands Visitor Center.
Session 3 will be from Aug. 16 to 20 and will feature Native American culture, birds, paleontology, ecology and a field trip to the Natural History Museum.
Enrollment is limited and preregistration is required.
