WHS grad going to CLU

Erin Apregan Erin Apregan Erin Nicole Apregan graduated from Westlake High School last week, after four years of involvement in extracurricular activities.

Apregan, 18, is the daughter of Jeff and Nancy Apregan. She was the class president in her sophomore year and vice president of her class in her junior year. She was in Associated Student Government all four years and served as rallies commissioner and vice president of student government.

She was also in choir for three years—one year in Mixed Chorale and two years in Women’s Chorale— and in her junior year was the Women’s Chorale publicity officer.

“My choir director, Mr. Rose, has had the biggest influence on my life. Not only has he taught me more about music, but his class has taught me responsibility, time management and working with a group,” Apregan said.

She was also involved with spirit cheerleading for four years. In her freshman and sophomore years, she was on the freshman and junior varsity teams, respectively. In her junior and senior years, she was on varsity. She also coached the Westlake Braves senior cheer squad.

Apregan was a counselor for high school Welcome Week for three years during the summer.

“My favorite teacher in high school was my ninth-grade math teacher, Mr. Maki . . . a kindhearted, loving teacher who truly cared for his students and enjoyed his job. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers,” Apregan said.

In the fall, she will attend California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks to study psychology.

Apregan said she hopes that in 10 years she will have completed a doctorate in clinical psychology. and begun a career helping adolescents. She also hopes to have started a family.
