Wellness Community’s gala honors local leaders

More than 370 community supporters attended the Wellness Community Valley/Ventura’s Celebration of Life Gala on May 7 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village.

Board member and 2008-10 board chair Thomas Crowell presented the Celebration of Philanthropy award to John Notter Sr. for his efforts to help people with cancer through his leadership with the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.

Board member Margaret Serjak presented the Celebration of Life award to Lyn Woodley for her years of volunteer service on behalf of The Wellness Community.

Siblings Kevin and Katie Iritano described how The Wellness Community’s Kids Circle support group helped them find encouragement when their father was diagnosed with cancer last year.
