Red Cross first-aid classes planned for Sat., June 5

The American Red Cross of Ventura County will offer discounts of more than 60 percent on first-aid classes at various locations across the county on Sat., June 5. The four-hour course, presented in two identical sessions, trains individuals to recognize and care for victims of injuries and sudden illness.

The first session will be from 8 a.m. to noon, and the second will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Classes are in English unless otherwise noted.

Following are the locations:

American Red Cross Betty Plotkin Center, 836 Calle Plano, Camarillo.

City of Moorpark EOC, 610 Spring Road, Moorpark.

East County Sheriff’s Department, 2101 E. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.

Oxnard Performing Arts Center, Youth Center Building, 800 Hobson Way, Oxnard. Both classes in Spanish.

Simi Valley Police Department, 3901 Alamo St., Simi Valley.

The cost is $15 preregistration or $20 at the door. The regular price is $40.
