Regarding your May 6 editorial, you said it right–‘‘Negative campaigning hits new lows.”

I have a hard time putting faith into candidates who cannot find enough worthwhile things to say about themselves. Instead, they have to spend all their campaign dollars bashing their opponent.

Lower voter turnout, maybe that’s the reason for negative campaigning.
