May 24 is the deadline to register for primary election
The last day to register to vote in the June 8 primary election is Mon, May 24. The completed voter registration form must be postmarked by May 24 for the applicant to vote.
Anyone wishing to register can do so from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the office of the Ventura County Elections Division in the Ventura County Government Center, Hall of Administration, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.
Registration forms are also available at city halls, post offices, libraries, chambers of commerce and fire stations.
Forms can also be downloaded via the Internet at http:// recorder.countyofventura.org/ elections.htm.
Voters who want to vote by mail must complete an application which is on the back cover of the sample ballot book, or write a letter requesting a vote by mail ballot. All vote by mail applications must reach the Elections Division Office by Tues., June 1.
Voters can also come to the Elections Division Office and vote before Election Day. All completed vote by mail ballots must be returned to the County Elections Division by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Ballots can also be dropped off in drop boxes inside each city’s city hall and city clerk’s office, outside the Ventura County Government Center’s Hall of Administration or at any county polling place on Election Day.
