Program helps residents with their energy bills
Community Action of Ventura County is continuing its Home Energy Assistance Program, which offers financial help to low-income households with either their gas or electric bills through June.
The program is geared toward families with the lowest incomes that pay a high portion of their household income for home energy.
Interviews are by appointment at the Community Action office at 621 Richmond Ave., Oxnard, and other locations in Ventura County. To set up an appointment or to have an application packet mailed, call (805) 436-4000.
CAVC, formerly called the Commission on Human Concerns, is a nonprofit group started in 1965 that helps low-income, disadvantaged and at-risk families and individuals to become selfsufficient through a variety of programs and services.
