Conejo Valley Days begins next Wednesday

Everyone is invited to attend the 54th annual Conejo Valley Days, which will run from April 28 to May 2 at Conejo Creek Park South. The park is off the 23 Freeway at the Janss Road exit in Thousand Oaks.

The five-day event will feature live music, carnival rides, animal performers, hot air balloons, bungee jumping, games of skill and chance, and lots of food vendors.

The festival is for kids, teens and the whole family to enjoy.

Country, new rock and classic rock bands will be performing. The ’70s band Sweet will perform Saturday evening, May 1.

This year’s carnival area includes a Mark 1 Roller Coaster, kids’ rides and a western-themed Main Street.

A hot-air balloon from Remax Realty will be visible to early morning commuters on the 23 Freeway Wed., Thurs. and Fri., April 28, 29 and 30. A banner hanging from the balloon will announce the festival with the words “Conejo Valley Days.”

Farmers Insurance will offer $5 tethered hot-air balloon rides beginning at dusk during all five festival days. Proceeds will go to the Thousand Oaks High School Cheer Boosters.

“The aerial view should be fantastic. People should bring their cameras and take plenty of pictures,” CVD volunteer Mary Catherine McBride said.

A dog show called Extreme Canines will also entertain those who attend.

The Badgeroo Contest will be at 7 p.m. Wed., April 28 at the Ma Keeler Stage.
