REC Solar has released TED 5000, the next-generation in home energy monitors that measures the power consumption of an entire household and makes the power metering information available to consumers through a computer, wireless display or a smart phone/ PDA. While “smart meters” are designed primarily for the electric utility industry to better manage supply and demand of electricity, TED is designed specifically for consumers so they can better manage the use and cost of electricity.
