The Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club will be conducting an amateur radio license training program from 7 to 8:45 p.m. for eight Fridays starting April 2 at the East County Sheriff’s Station, 2101 E. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.

This technician license class is the entry level for amateur radio. The final exam for licensing will be given on a Sunday morning after completing the class. Students will be advised of the exam date during the class.

The classes are free. A $25 refundable deposit is required for the ham radio license manual.

Ham radio operators can communicate with other amateur operators around the world and also use their radio for emergency preparedness.
