Brain injury subject of conference

The nonprofit Brain Injury Center of Camarillo will host its second annual Ventura County Brain Injury Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sat., April 10 at the Ventura County Office of Education in Camarillo.

Ventura County professionals in the fields that deal with brain injury will present programs and seminars dealing with such topics as coping strategies for emotional well-being; sexuality and relationships for people with a brain injury; behavioral management for families; the consequences of drug and alcohol use by brain-injured people; enhancing recreational and social skills; estate planning and special needs trusts, and developments in research and medical technology that will affect brain injuries.

Last year’s debut conference at St. John’s Medical Center in Oxnard drew almost 200 participants, including professionals and families.

The conference cost is $15, which includes lunch and informational handouts.
