Teen sentenced for murder
Luis Lima, 15, of Newbury Park was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the killing of Juan Nabte, 21.
In the late evening hours of Nov. 4, 2007, Nabte was shot while he stood outside of his home in Newbury Park.
He died the next day.
Limas is a member of the MS13 criminal street gang. He provided the murder weapon to the shooter on the evening of Nabte’s murder. He and two other gang members ambushed Nabte to avenge a prior violent confrontation between them.
A jury convicted Lima of firstdegree murder on Nov. 4, 2009.
