Responsible voters will ignore dirty campaign tactics
Wouldn’t it be tragic if the citizens of our community and the county allowed themselves to be bamboozled by a heavily financed attack campaign on Supervisor Linda Parks, who’s up for reelection in June?
I’ve known Linda for 20 years, since she first joined the Thousand Oaks Planning Commission, lending her professional expertise as an urban planner in volunteer service for the city.
Since those early days, Linda has moved on to serve ably as a local council member, mayor and now supervisor, faithfully remaining true to core values that reflect our own and prompting us to reelect her over the years.
Suddenly, we’re confronted with a political carpetbagger who, by all reports, has money to burn, a history of negative campaigning and who stands ready to introduce divisive partisan politics into the race for an appropriately nonpartisan office.
My recommendation is to stick with Linda!
Creative, energetic and solution-oriented, she’s an able representative–environmentally sensitive, fiscally responsible, readily accessible and responsive to our needs. Parks has served us well and has earned our support.
