Lutheran women offer free prayer service

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is offering a free prayer service titled “Beautiful Feet,” the theme for the league’s 2009 convention in Portland, Ore.

The service is based on Isaiah 52:7: “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’”

The prayer service was written by the Rev. Philip Esala, senior pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kettering, Ohio, and includes readings, prayer time, recommended songs and ideas for enhancing the experience of worshipers.

The prayer service was created to reinforce the convention objectives of worshiping God, trusting in the Lord, declaring God’s peace and provision through tangible acts of mercy and grace, and sharing the good news of Jesus in everyday situations.

The prayer service is available for free download from www.lwml.org.
