Menchies opens
Menchie’s, a nationwide selfserve frozen yogurt franchise, hosted a Haitian Disaster Relief Day last Saturday as a part of the grand opening of its Westlake Village store, 180 Promenade Way, Ste. G.
The store donated a portion of end-of-day sales to the American Red Cross Haiti relief fund.
The grand opening also had raffles and the Menchie’s mascot on hand to entertain customers.
Menchie’s stores partner with local schools through fundraising activities and education incentive programs. Annually, each store donates thousands of dollars in cash and products to schools to support student programs. The Menchie’s of Westlake Village is sponsoring the Westlake Baseball Association and the Thousand Oaks Little League.
At Menchie’s, customers create their combinations from a self-serve station with more than 100 rotating yogurt flavors, such as chocolate, cake batter and pomegranate tart, and more than 60 rotating toppings, including chocolate, candy, fresh fruit, granola and hot fudge. The dessert is weighed and charged by the ounce, so customers only pay for what they take.
Menchie’s, founded in 2007 by husband-and-wife team Adam and Danna Caldwell, has 25 locations in seven states and an additional 20 in development across the county. For more information, visit www.menchies.com.
