Disaster response team seeks new members
The Thousand Oaks Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) is seeking new members and is offering a series of classes required for acceptance onto the team.
New members must have completed Community Emergency Response Training within the last two years.
Classes will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for seven Mondays beginning March 22 at the Thousand Oaks Police Department community education room, 2101 E. Olsen Road.
One Saturday class is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 24.
DART is an all-volunteer disaster response and community action team dedicated to training its members and educating residents in emergency preparation and response.
DART members learn about public safety techniques, enabling them to assist the community in emergencies.
DART is funded by the city of Thousand Oaks, certified by the Ventura County Sheriff ’s Department and is administered by the Thousand Oaks Police Department.
