Actors’ studio will offer professional training

Markus Flanagan, a 20-year working actor, has opened a studio in Thousand Oaks for actors who seek professional training.

Flanagan is a graduate of The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, where he trained under Sanford Meisner, creator of the Meisner technique of acting.

The studio will offer classes for all age groups. Youth classes for ages 6 to 12 and 13 to 18 will be in six-week sessions.

Adult classes will run in eight-month sessions and participants will receive lessons comparable to the first year of Meisner training.

Flanagan has appeared in more than 150 episodes of television shows, 10 movies, eight movies-of-the-week and five plays.

He has acted on “Friends,” “NCIS,” “Seinfeld,” “Seven Pounds” and “CSI.”

He wrote the book “One Less Bitter Actor,” a primer for the beginning actor on succeeding as a working actor.

Classes begin in March, April and May.
