Stimulus money supports unions, not much more
The Feb. 25 Acorn printed an article which started by explaining that Community Action of Ventura County (CAVC) would receive about $1 million in stimulus money to weatherize homes of low-income families. Reading further, the contract that CAVC has with the Obama administration requires that workers will be paid union wages to weatherize the homes.
I seem to remember that under Obama’s first stimulus package, New Hampshire received stimulus money that was to be used on projects that employed only union workers being paid union wages.
Now that CAVC is required to pay union wages, only a fool would say that nonunion workers will be hired to weatherize the homes. An unemployed nonunion worker has the same rights as an unemployed union worker.
The only difference is that the Obama administration is spending taxpayers’ money to pay back his union supporters.
The Declaration of Independence states that “all men are created equal.” Now we see how the politicians make all men unequal or, perhaps, some are more equal than others.
We would all enjoy a happier life if we could keep the government out of it. Now I understand the rise of the tea bag movement.
Throw the bums out of office.
