Buy a shamrock and help fight muscular dystrophy

As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, many retailers have displays of shamrock mobiles for sale in support of Muscular Dystrophy Association. Customers can buy and sign the $1 and $5 green and gold mobiles, which then are displayed.

Participants include Albertsons, Burger King, Walgreens, Bristol Farms, Lowe’s and Jons Marketplace.

The program directly helps local families affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases.

Funds raised through this program upport research programs, MDA’s national network of 215 hospital-affiliated clinics, including clinics at UCLA, USC and UC Irvine, and help send local children with muscle-wasting diseases to accessible MDA summer camps.Last year, Shamrocks Against Dystrophy in Southern California raised $1.3 million.
