Conejo Free Clinic will host Women’s Health Fair next month

The Conejo Free Clinic, in partnership with Kaiser Permanente, will host the eighth annual free Women’s Health Fair for underinsured and uninsured women from 9 a.m. to noon Sat., April 17 at Kaiser Permanente in Thousand Oaks, 365 E. Hillcrest Drive.

The first 100 women to register will receive such free services as breast cancer education, clinical breast exam, mammograms and off-site mammogram referrals, Pap test, blood pressure check, lab work to include diabetes and cholesterol screening, and STD testing.

Educational materials will be provided. Participants should not eat anything for 12 hours before lab work.

Doctors, nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants will perform the exam room services. Medical providers, registered nurses and translators will assist the back office. Additional professional/skilled community volunteers will usher the women patients through all of the testing during the three-hour event.

The Conejo Free Clinic, a nonprofit healthcare organization in Thousand Oaks, has offered free family practice, women’s health, pediatrics, immunizations and legal services for more than 30 years.
