Local students named to dean’s list
•Sara Hagey of Thousand Oaks was named to the dean’s list of Emory College, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., for the 2009 fall semester.
Students must be in the top 20 percent of Emory College or have approximately a 3.85 grade-point average or higher to be named to the dean’s list.
Hagey is the daughter of Stephen M. Hagey and Robin G. Hagey.
•Kelly Zhou of Thousand Oaks was named to the merit list of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University in Oxford, Ga., for the 2009 fall semester.
Students must earn a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the previous semester to be named to the merit list.
Zhou is the daughter of Pengzu Zhou and Ruizhi Ji.
•Amy Schaffer of Thousand Oaks was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester 2009 at Northeastern University in Boston.
Schaffer is majoring in computer science and multimedia studies.
To achieve the dean’s list, students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a quality-point average of 3.25 or greater and carry no grade lower than a C.
•Aric J. Burnham of Thousand Oaks was named to the dean’s list for the 2009 fall semester at Carroll College in Helena, Mont.
Dean’s list honorees must earn a 3.5 grade-point average or better and take at least 12 credits.
•Freshman Brittany Allison and senior Shylah Shostak, both of Thousand Oaks, were named to the Seaver College dean’s list at Pepperdine University for the 2009 fall semester.
Students on the dean’s list must be in the upper 10 percent of their class and maintain a 3.5 or better grade-point average.
Seaver College is the undergraduate school for the university in Malibu.
