Navy Reserve Cmdr. Kenneth E. Hobmann recently assumed all duties as the commanding officer of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 55 at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu.
Before assuming command, Hobmann served as the aircraft division officer, quality assurance officer and landing signals officer at Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 112.
In 1997, he transferred to Antarctic Development Squadron 6 and served as communications officer, command managed equal opportunity officer and quality assurance officer.
Hobmann completed numerous counter-narcotics deployments to Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He also made two deployments to McMurdo Station, Antarctica, in support of the National Science Foundation.
Hobmann has accumulated 4,800 flight hours. He’s received several personal awards, including four Navy Commendation Medals and two Navy Achievement Medals.
Hobmann is the son of Gail and Robert Hobmann of Westlake Village and a graduate of Agoura High School. He joined the Navy Reserve in May 1990 after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.
