Public relations firm names new leader

Gary Caloroso Gary Caloroso Gary Caloroso has been named the new president of the Westlake Village-based Sahlman Williams Public Relations and Marketing company.

Caloroso, a Thousand Oaks resident, received the “40 Under Forty” award by Produce Business magazine. The publication recognizes top industry leaders under the age of 40 whose qualifications include outstanding community involvement and who are considered young leaders in the produce industry.

Caloroso serves as the chief information officer for the Westlake Nautical Foundation and is a member of the Rotary Club of Newbury Park.

The company was founded in 1983. In 2006, Caloroso left Porter Novelli in Los Angeles to join Sahlman Williams and lead the company’s West Coast expansion operations.

The PR firm represents Bolthouse Farms, the Chilean Avocado Importers Association, Entertainment Publications, Georgia Pecan Commission, the Napa Valley Vintners Association, Sweetbay Supermarket and Vidalia Onion Committee.
